Hertfordshire Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening is being offered free of charge by the NHS to all men in our area and a screening clinic is conveniently located in Cheshunt.

This is being offered to all men during the year of their 65th birthday. Men aged over 65 years who have not been screened can self refer by phoning 01727 897719.

Spectrum Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service – Hatfield

Spectrum – Hatfield is a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for adults.

The Hatfield service is also open to people living in the Welwyn Garden City and St Albans areas.

They will help you to make and sustain the changes you need to make to reduce and, ultimately, stop your drug and/or alcohol use.

Over a period of twelve weeks or more, you will receive 1:1 support from your Get Active Specialist to make getting active as easy as possible.

Maternity

North Middlesex University Hospital

North Middlesex University Hospital offer a choice of consultant or midwife-led care, depending on the needs and wishes of each expectant mother and following risk assessment by us. There are 16 consultant obstetricians and two consultant midwives. Consultant-led antenatal clinics take place within the hospital. The majority of midwifery clinics are in the community.

The consultant midwives promote early access and healthy lifestyles in the local community and use a health bus to travel to hard-to-reach groups and new service users.

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust offers maternity care from several hospitals and community hubs.

Their two main maternity hospitals are Barnet Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital. They also provide maternity services at Chase Farm Hospital, Edgware Community Hospital, Cheshunt Community Hospital, Finchley Memorial Hospital and a range of health centres, GP practices, children’s centres and other community locations.

The Wellbeing Service (IAPT)

The Wellbeing Service is an Improving Access to Psychological Therapy (IAPT) service. This is a government initiative to provide easily accessible, evidence based treatments, to the general population experiencing common mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. Hertfordshire Wellbeing Team has four teams located in GP surgeries and community settings covering the whole county.

The aim of the service is to help people across the county to be able to access psychological therapy and social care support towards achieving better psychological health and well-being, enabling them to gain or remain in employment and to participate in daily living activities.

Kooth – Support for children and adolescents

An online counselling and emotional well-being platform for children and young people, accessible through mobile, tablet and desktop and free at the point of use.

PANDAS – Pre and postnatal depression advice and support

PANDAS support people, families and carers affected by pre and postnatal mental illness. Our PANDAS Support Group is here to listen and can make all the difference, come and visit us every first and third Thursday of the month for some support, advice and to meet some friendly faces. No need to book, just come along.

Hertfordshire Stop Smoking Service

Hertfordshire Stop Smoking Service can help you ‘quit for good’.  In fact you are 4 times more likely to succeed with our Free* support compared to going it alone.

In Hertfordshire there are over 300 local stop smoking services across the county offering professional specialist advice to support to you with your quit attempt. Our stop smoking specialists offer friendly and non-judgemental 1-1 support weekly for up to 12 weeks (or group support at workplaces).
